Responsibilities
• Act as L2-L3 support on system events relating to Server and desktop infrastructure
• Provides technical and engineering support for Terremark Corporate IT customers
• Position will utilize performance monitoring tools to isolate and resolve advanced performance and utilization issues and recommend solutions for chronic issues
• Perform end-to-end trouble isolation and repair of critical systems and services that Corporate IT provides.
• This is a 7x24 support organization
• Manage the testing and installation of updated software, system upgrades and patches through Terremark's Change Control process.
• Continually evaluate release management process for opportunities for improvement in both velocity and quality.
• Define and implement monitors for fault-detection, availability, capacity and performance trending for assigned applications and services.
• Verify monitors are in place to track availability, performance and capacity of assigned applications, critical components and underlying systems.
• Develop and distribute regular Availability, Performance and Capacity trend reports for assigned applications and services.
• Engineer methods to optimize the availability, capacity, performance and cost of assigned applications and services.
• Provide escalation support to End User Support Services for issues related to provisioning services to customers.
• Document, track and monitor all assigned Incidents, Service Requests and Work Orders in a timely, professional manner in compliance with Terremark policy.
• Develop and maintain accurate return-to-service knowledge base articles for assigned applications and systems.
• Routinely review and analyze recurring incidents for assigned applications and systems and take measures to resolve underlying root cause.
• Define, develop and maintain integrated security model for authorized users to access the applications, underlying systems and data.
• Validate systems and database backup routines on a regular basis.
• Verify that security patches are applied on a monthly basis.
• Work with Information Security to monitor system vulnerability reports for actionable items and take appropriate action to remediate any new vulnerability found on a monthly basis.
• Ongoing maintenance & administration of assigned systems.
• Adherence to policies, processes and procedures within your areas of responsibility.
• Oversight and execution of projects related to areas of responsibility.
• Documentation of supporting policies, processes and procedures within your areas of responsibilities.
• Continued proficiency development on emerging technologies through self-study and training.
• Participation in assigned projects.
• Requires professional interaction with internal teams and organizations within Terremark
• Maintain accurate logs of trouble isolation and repair efforts and escalate/communicate issues to management as needed
• Act as Senior level resource for End User support team
Required Skills & Experience
• Understanding of Active Directory.(5+ years)
• Experience as an SE supporting Microsoft and Cisco products directly. (5+ years)
• Microsoft Windows Server installation/management/troubleshooting experience (5+ years)
• Experience with Microsoft Exchange, Office Communicator, Blackberry Enterprise Server, SharePoint, SCCM, SCOM (5+ years)
• Experience with Vmware ESX 4.1/5.0, Vmware Update Manager, Vmware monitoring and Performance tuning (5+ years)
• Advanced working knowledge of SAN/NAS technology (5+ years)
• Should be familiar with Cisco VoIP and Video (Tandberg) technologies (5+ years)
• Disaster Recovery and High availability systems design (5+ years)
• Layer 3 switching configuration. (5+ years)
• Strong understanding of networking concepts such as OSI Model, packet architecture, security, authentication. (5+ years)
• VLAN setup and management. (5+ years)
Desired Skills & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
• Industry certifications are desired: MCITP , MCSE (cloud) a plus
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Able to rapidly absorb and implement new technologies and procedures
