Job Description:The role of the Data Analyst is to implement and maintain data management processes that support accurate, consistent, and timely information. The Data Analyst is responsible for implementing a continuous quality improvement program with the goal of maintaining the highest level of information quality and reliability from source data to end user information. The Data Analyst will manage the data quality activities since this data to information stream involves multiple sources and users in multiple business areas. Duties: Independently scope out and test multiple complex technical projects Work with all levels of management to promote an organization wide culture that recognizes data as a corporate asset. Evangelize the concept that all employees play a role in data quality management Resolve data quality problems by investigating data issues, extracting examples of potential data quality deficiencies and working with business owners to resolve. Identify, document, and communicate data and business information definitions (metadata) rules using standardized documentation procedures in coordination with other data warehouse team members to support the projects. Comply with corporate and regulatory policies to verify data quality, accuracy and reliability. Develop and oversee standard validation, monitoring and measurement systems and remedial processes to ensure data loads always occur on schedule and data is accurate. Withhold new data and communicate status if significant errors are identified. Develop and implement process changes in support of continuous data quality. Perform root cause analysis; assess processes and procedures behind poorly performing data areas. Consult with customers, application areas and other technical support areas on data quality related topics. Analyze impact of system changes and interpret new and changing business requirements to determine their impact on data warehouse design and to propose enhancements and changes to meet these new requirements. Manages the day-to-day functions related to application development and support of our Business Intelligence systems Writes and/or reviews functional and technical specification documents Establishes service level agreements with the business and works with IT operations to ensure system availability Adopts and follows change management procedures related to implementation of application changes Coordinates system upgrades, patch installation, system outages, and maintenance schedules with vendors, other IT Managers and senior IT personnel Skills/Qualifications: In-depth knowledge of the structure and content of the data warehouse--including tables, views, aggregates, attributes, metrics, indexes, primary and foreign keys, and joins--to answer data-related questions Must have strong experience with data validation and database testing concepts, software quality assurance principles and methodologies Need experience testing QA projects, database and SQL scripting ·         Need experience with Oracle Database, PL/SQL and SQL Data Testing automation Must have a strong analytical background and possess experience in creating test plans, be familiar with SDLC, and have solid experience with testing data driven applications
