Lead PL/SQL Developer will work with Functional Analyst and Java Lead to obtain specs to be used for building/enhancing Item and Pricing systems supporting Merchandising and Business Solutions Division (BSD).

 

Will lead a team designing, enhancing and implementing Oracle PL/SQL applications. 

 

- Demonstrates expert knowledge of technical design alternatives and the implementation implications

 

- Manages complete life cycle for most complex or high-risk components

 

- Analyzes functional design/overall application technical design and develops detailed module technical application for complex components

 

- Identifies opportunities for improving software by partnering with customers; evaluates new and existing software products

 

- Demonstrates expert knowledge of technical design alternatives and their implications by guiding the development team in overall application technical design activities

 

- Codes complex application components based on functional requirements

 

- Approximately 8-10 years experience in field

 

- Must have excellent verbal, documentation, troubleshooting and debugging skills.

The Lead will also be expected to develop a large portion of the system and must have recent hands on experience. Individual will be expected to have a minimum of 3 years leading a team of Java developers and a minimum of 5-7 years skillset in the following area:

 

-J2SE 5.0 environment and API.

-J2EE 1.4/5.0 environment and API.

-Spring, JSP/JSTL, JPA

This is advanced technical work involving the planning, design, implementation, and operation of database systems supported by the Administrative Support Application Program (ASAP) team, using SQL Server 2008/2012. The individual in the position works with a team of two DBAs who work directly with the databases, system analysts, developers and user support staff to maintain and enhance the ASAP projects. Duties are performed under limited supervision.

Primary Duties

·       Creates and maintains physical database structures to support ASAP maintenance and new development.

·       Creates and maintains server jobs, database schema, database objects, scripts and queries as required.

·       Analyzes and performs administrative tasks to ensure the health of the databases; analyzes and institutes safeguards to ensure stable and secure environments.

·       Works with network administrators and application developers to provide performance tuning to meet application requirements.

·       Researches, analyzes and resolves problems related to access, usage and performance of database systems.

·       Determines and documents daily, weekly, monthly and annual database-related tasks.

·       Develops implementation plans and schedules for software upgrades and major modifications/enhancements, in coordination with the project manager and lead developers.

·       Writes and maintains appropriate documentation of policies and procedures for database administration functions.

Must haves

·       Three years of IT experience involving the analysis, design and maintenance of databases
